RBridge 8.216: January 17, 2020

  • Installation for macOS is now done just by copying the rbridge binary from the provided tar archive to /usr/local/bin. The former .pkg package for macOS is no longer provided.
  • The installation instructions for macOS have been updated in the online manual.

  • With true_random_keymaterial the macsecret is now xored to compute the authentication hash (if present).
  • The online resources have been updated.

RBridge 8.207: March 28, 2019

  • When true_random_keymaterial and key are both set, the selected true random key is xored with the internal key before encryption and decryption. This allows interpreting the same true random key material differently for different RBridge links and over time.
  • A potential attacker trying to decrypt previously recorded DASP packets needs both, the true random key material AND the key that has been set at the time of the recording.
  • The online resources have been updated.

  • ChaCha20 is now the default encryption algorithm with “encryption_mode = 1” AES-256 CTR is used instead
